Toan B. Truong, LAc. M.T.O.M
As a Licensed Acupuncturist with a Masters degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine Toan Truong specializes in neuro-muscular and internal medicine. In addition, some of his areas of expertise include:
- Neuro-muscular: i.e. control of acute pain
- Neurology: i.e. stroke patients
- Gynecology: i.e. infertility, amenorrhea, miscarriage
- Endocrinology: i.e. imbalanced estrogen levels, liver enzyme increases, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, etc.
- Gastro-intestinal problems: i.e. stomach ulcers, abdominal bloating with chronic constipation, Crohn’s disease, etc.
- Dermatology: i.e. eczema, urticaria, dermatitis, shingles
Toan Truong was born in Vietnam and it was there during his childhood that he was first exposed to acupuncture and herbal remedies. He came to the United States in 1981.
In 1992 he earned his B.S. degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at the University of California-San Diego. Toan then went on to receive his Master’s degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine at Pacific College and has been practicing since 1996.
In conjunction with his specialties, his strengths are raw herbal medicine and acupuncture point location. He is currently faculty at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) teaching courses in acpuncture and herbal remedies. He supervises the clinic at PCOM. As well, Toan is also a doctoral student in PCOM’s Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) program.
