Neck Injuries - Pains and Strains

Have you injured your neck?  Do you have a pain in your neck? A pain or discomfort in your neck could arise from any part  of it  - muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves or even bone. Or it may be referred from your head, shoulders, or upper arms.

Muscle strain or tension may often times be the cause of neck pain or injury. Muscle strain injuries usually occur as the muscle is elongated passively or when it is activated during a stretch. Often times it is from overuse, such as sitting at a computer too long or sleeping in an awkward position. Maybe you overdid it exercising.

Another common cause of neck pain and injury is falls or accidents. Car accidents with resulting whiplash are a common cause of neck injury and pain.  Whiplash is actually a soft tissue injury to the muscles and ligaments of the neck area.

Treatment depends on the cause and it may include various forms of microcurrent electrical stimulation, chiropractic and/or acupuncture.
